BMW has revealed particulars of the hurl streak-up for its iX SUV – the company's all-charged with electricity Tesla Archetype X antagonist – which will go on market in the UK towards the end of 2021.
Two versions will be available, both with different-sized battery packs, different efficiency outputs and charging standards. The line kicks off with the BMW iX xDrive40, which will be priced from £69,000 RRP in the UK – an on-the-passage cost has not been revealed yet.
The iX makes use of BMW's fifth-procreation eDrive charged with electricity motors, which are more stipulation and efficiency compact than the units you'll fall upon in an i3, for example.
The xDrive40 archetype uses a battery with ‘more than' 70kWh of usable extent of room or space, providing efficiency to a four-move on wheels-impel charged with electricity motor a whole with around 300bhp. BMW claims that 0-62mph takes six seconds, and there's a WLTP line of 249 miles from a replete battery. Fleet charging at 150kW will be colors, so a 10-80 per cent recharge in 40 minutes is possible.
A cost hasn't been revealed for the more efficacious, longer-line xDrive50 archetype, but it's likely to shrink from around £100,000 when it goes on market. It uses a 100kWh (net) battery budget mounted under the put a floor on of the car, while the four-move on wheels-impel motor a whole has a greatest output of 500bhp. The 0-62mph sprint takes less than five seconds, source from
car brands.
BMW specs claims a line of 373 miles on a replete battery according to WLTP, eclipsing the 360 miles that Tesla claims for the Archetype X Lengthy Line.
In etc add, fleet-charging extent of room or space is increased to 200kW, so while the xDrive50 has a larger battery than the xDrive40, it can also reform a 10-80 per cent burden in around 40 minutes when plugged in to a chargepoint open of that output.
